Angels for Allison is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in memory of 15-year old Allison Haramis, who was tragically killed in an auto accident in April of 2009. Her family and friends wanted to create a living legacy of her joyous spirit by giving back to those in need, specifically by aiding with the financial needs of families who are suffering the loss of a child. 100% of the profits donated to our charity help families who have lost a child with expenses, such as funeral or burial costs. Over the past 5 years, 138 families in Northeast Florida have been referred to Angels for Allison through partnerships with Wolfson Children’s Hospital, UF Health, Community Peds Care and the Northeast Florida Association of School Psychologists.
The Festival of Flight is our largest fundraiser. It is an outdoor music and arts festival with local bands, food, a beer garden, creative crafts and games for all ages to enjoy. Because of the generosity of our sponsors and the support of the Jacksonville community, the 2014 Festival of Flight was a huge success!!! It raised over $85,000 to further our mission to provide financial assistance for expenses associated with the death of a child.
Planning is already underway for our 5th Annual Festival of Flight. The Festival of Flight will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2015, and we are excited to announce that this year we are partnering with the Riverside Arts Market. We are expecting a record crowd of over 7,000 people. The festivities will include live music, artwork from local artists, special vendors, creative crafts for children, fabulous food, a beer garden and a tailgate area featuring football games of the day.
We are excited to have several exciting musical artists performing at this year's Festival of Flight! Make sure to check back in the upcoming weeks as we continue to add artists to the day's line up!!
Canary in the Coalmine is an Americana-Folk band fronted by songwriters Jessica Pounds and Sandy Wicker. A haunting quality underscores striking vocal harmonies that provide a focal point for the band’s Appalachian folk and alt country influences. It’s that uniquely characteristic sound of their voices together that first caught the girls’ attention in July of 2009, when they crossed paths busking in the streets of Asheville, North Carolina. It was love at first sound. They were immediately struck by an undeniable compatibility, and although they lived 500 miles apart the band was formed within four months. The band has completed work on their first full length album, produced by Matt Grondin, and officially released it in March of 2015.
Members: Matthew Flynn, Van Lucas, Zev Lee, Zachary Stickler, Jacob Nemeth
Sixteen-year-old Jordyn Stoddard may seem like a young up-and-comer, but she has already positioned herself as a triple-threat in the country music community. This youth sings with the soul of a seasoned veteran, strums a signature turquoise guitar and has years of songwriting under her belt. Hailing from Jacksonville Beach, FL, Stoddard was named 2013 Local Artist of the Year, and her single, “Sayonara”, was selected as the 2013 Local Song of the Year for WQIK-FM country radio in Jacksonville, FL. Stoddard is also a regular performer on several radio and television shows in the Jacksonville area.
